DIY Vicks Shower Bombs

Cold and flu season is here, and finding ways to alleviate chest congestion can be incredibly helpful!

One effective and easy-to-make remedy is Vicks shower melts. This Vicks shower steamer DIY releases soothing vapors in your shower, helping to ease cold symptoms.

Here’s how to make your own Vicks shower melts, also known as Vicks, shower tablets, DIY Vicks shower steamers, and Vicks Vapor Rub shower table, or Tools and materials:


·      1 cup of cornstarch

·      3 tablespoons of Vicks

·      Approximately 6 tablespoons of water

·      Optional: dye for color

·      Bowl

·      Measuring cups and spoons

·      Silicone mold


1.   Mix the ingredients

Begin by adding 1 cup of cornstarch to a bowl. Next, add 3 tablespoons of Vicks.

 

Gradually add about 6 tablespoons of water while mixing thoroughly to form a paste.


(Optional) you can add a few drops of dye to give your shower melts some color.


  2. Transfer to the molds

Once your paste is well mixed, transfer it into silicone molds. This will shape your shower melts into convenient sizes for use.




 

3. Freeze the mixture

Place the filled silicone molds in the freezer for a couple of hours. Freezing allows the paste to harden, making the shower melts firm and easy to manage.



 4. Store your shower melts

After a couple of hours in the freezer, your Vicks shower melts are ready. Remove them from the molds and store them in an airtight container to keep them fresh.



5. How to use your Vicks shower melts

To use your Vicks shower melts, place one on the floor of your shower and let the hot water run over it. The steam will release soothing vapors, helping to ease chest congestion and cold symptoms.
