There are many ways to clean your brand new windows, (and old windows too), but we've found the best tips and tricks on how to clean your windows, STREAK FREE and like a professional!
The FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT rule is NEVER WASH your windows on a SUNNY day. This leads to a terrible abundance of smears and streaks as the heat from the sun evaporates the solution before you can even get a chance to wipe it off.
Always choose a cloudy day or a window that's not directly in the sun. Always wash your window sills and frames before you start washing the glass.
NEVER use any harsh chemicals or abrasive sponges, this will cause damage to the glass.

Even the BEST window cleaning products will be useless if you're using the wrong tools or don't use the right technique.
Here's what you'll need:
A Bucket
Spray bottle
Water
Sponge (any simple type of sponge)
microfiber cloth
Squeegee
Window cleaning solution
Duster or vacuum
rubber gloves
FOR CLEANING WINDOWS INSIDE: Remove blinds and curtains, use a vacuum or duster to remove dust and dirt around the window frame and sills.
BEST HOMEMADE CLEANING SOLUTION
There are many great products on the market, but a simple and cost effective product is just plain white vinegar or lemon juice. Here's the recipe:
For a bucket: Mix 2 gallons of water, 1 tsp. liquid dish soap, 2 cups. white vinegar (0r 2 C. lemon juice)
Spray bottle: Mix 1/2 C. white vinegar (or lemon juice), 1/2 tsp. liquid dish soap, 2 C. water.
If your windows haven't been cleaned in a long time or are especially grimy, you'll want to use a bucket of the solution. If you're windows are brand new or don't need intense cleaning, you can just use a spray bottle.
If using a bucket, take your sponge and saturate it with the solution. Wipe down window thoroughly, then squeegee the window, wiping the excess liquid off the squeegee and any remaining water drips on the window with microfiber towel. Repeat these steps using the spray bottle if using that method.
THAT'S IT! SIMPLE AND EASY!
